In the vast majority of cases, goats are the best choice for weed and brush control. But in a handful of particular situations, sheep can be the ideal grazers for vegetation management:

  • Solar grazing (grazing of vegetation on solar farms - AKA “agrivoltaics”)

  • Landfill caps, sewage lagoon borders, and other passive public facilities with primarily grass ground covers

  • Vineyards, hop yards, and orchards

  • Any site where grass and relatively short herbaceous plants (as opposed to woody brush and tall broad-leafed weeds) dominate

Many Goats On The Go® Members will add sheep to their herds as needed for mixed-vegetation sites, but some also offer sheep-centric solutions at a large scale for solar grazing and similar projects.
