2026 Fall Member Training
October 9 - 10, Ames, Iowa
Join us for a 50% classroom, 50% hands-on Basic Training to be held in Ames, Iowa. The hands-on portion will include demonstration and practice with portable electric fencing, observation of live goats doing their thing, and practice with low-stress goat handling (including trailer loading).
This event is open to all affiliates/members, new an old! If you’re an existing affiliate who plans to transition to Legacy Membership in 2027, this will be a great opportunity to get ahead or catch up on your training requirement. The training is free for all. Bring an additional representative of your business at no extra charge.
Who should come?
All Goats On The Go® members/affiliates are invited.
Any affiliate with an every-other-year training requirement can satisfy it by attending.
Attendance by up to two members of your team is welcomed and encouraged.
When and where is the classroom session?
Friday, October 9, 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Story County Conservation Center, Ames, Iowa (see map here).
When and where is the hands-on session?
Saturday, October 10, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
McFarland Park, adjacent to Story County Conservation Center, Ames, Iowa (see map here).
How much does it cost?
Free! Bring yourself and a second representative of your business at no extra charge.
What else should I know?
Snacks and drinks provided.
Fun, laid-back classroom environment on Friday. Outdoors on Saturday if weather permits..
Dress casually and comfortably for both days, with appropriate chore clothes and shoes for Saturday.
You may want a tablet, laptop computer, or notebook to take notes.
